چکیده
Lead (Pb) pollution has been considered as a major threat for human health. Lead may be able to induce inflammatory cascades in various tissues. Allergic asthma and neurodegenerative diseases inflammatory diseases that the association between lead exposure and occurrence of these problems has been proven. The aim of present review is to summarize literature on the effects of lead exposure and occurrence of neurodegenerative problems. This study indicates lead may causes neurodegenerative diseases via direct and indirect induction of inflammatory

P156: Effect of Air Pollution on Alzheimer\'s Disease
Alzheimer, a chronic neurodegenerative disease, usually starts slowly and worsens gradually. It causes 60% to 70% of dementia cases. Difficulty in remembering recent events (short-term memory loss) is the most prominent early symptom. As the disease progresses, patients may have problems such as impaired language, disorientation (including easily getting lost), mood swings, loss of motivation, ...

Neurodegenerative diseases contain Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD), are characterized by neuronal death and neuronal degeneration in specific regions of the central nervous system (CNS). Microglia are the basic immune brain cells and play a role in homeostasis after inflammation challenge. Microglia involves in Neurodegenerative disease...
متن کاملLow level lead exposure and oxidative stress: current opinions.
Lead continues to pose a serious threat to the health of many children as well as adults. Concern about lead exposure as a significant public health problem has increased as evidence has mounted regarding adverse health effects at successively lower levels. This issue is complicated by the fact that there is no demonstrated biological function of lead in human. Lead potentially induces oxidativ...

Many chemicals with broad industrial, pharmaceutical and agricultural application produce a neurotoxic syndrome in humans and experimental animals involving weight loss, skeletal muscle weakness and ataxia. Neurotoxicity is defined as a structural change or a functional alteration of the nervous system resulting from exposure to a chemical, biological or physical agent. Neurotoxicity including ...
متن کاملHealth monitoring in employees exposed to lead: review the evidence
Introduction: Lead is a toxic metal found in the Earth's crust and has been used by humans for 7,000 years due to its high density, flexibility and strength, and low melting point. The widespread use of this metal in industry and the exposure of workers has led to widespread environmental pollution and public health problems in many parts of the world. Due to the widespread use of lead in vario...
